IIRC there were some viruses which were loaded in the floppy drive. And usually you turned off and on just the C64 when you loaded another game from disk. It was worse with a reset switch, because it was possible to write reset resistant programs (faking the CBM80 module id at $8000).
There was several viruses for the Commodore 64, of those I know of:
The spreading of a virus was bad, almost non-existant.
I heard about HIV (in fact, one of my friends gave me a disk with it, but I never ran it). I haven't heard of the others.
