The 8 Bit Generation with Jack Tramiel

(I didn't see an area to comment about this on the front page of the c128.com, so I'll put my observations here.)

Wow, I didn't know that the video existed and that a full-length documentary may be in the works (as it is inferred in the promo description)! The first thing that struck me was the announcer's pronunciation of the Tramiel name. At the 25th anniversary of the Commodore 64 event in 2007, I was told that the correct way of saying it is "truh mel", not the announcer's "tra mee el". The second thing was to see Jack speaking in front of the camera -- ah, that was very nice! It was as if he were still here with us. The third thing was that with all of its slick editing, the documentary promo had music that was a bit too loud; I was afraid it would drown out the voices of the interviewees.

If the full documentary were ever to be made, I would eagerly watch it.

How historical,

Yeah, I could not comment on

Yeah, I could not comment on the video either, but I wanted to... so here goes!

Great to hear from CBM people like Jack and Bill! The 'to be continued" is very annoying. Worst of all is the audio quality... the volume fluctuates wildly. Those issues aside, I really appreciate the historical content. Thanks for posting this video! (And awaiting part 2)

I enabled the comments on the post, no-one had ever used it so I got lazy about enabling it, would love it if someone can give it a quick test (my permissions make me a "not good" tester) I have heard others mention audio symptoms, I wonder if its something with the encoding as I didn't catch audio fluctuations, but then I was sitting with my jaw hanging oipen listening to what JT had to say.

I believe that the producers threw this out to try and get interest so that they could get some financing, I expect to hear more about this from them. (They have shared some information but I don't know if its for the public yet). The picture quality was great I thought. Hopefully we can get teh CBM crowd interested enough to be vocal advocates, I for one am not interested in another movie about Jobs or the other guy.

Well, because it is a promo, the sound may not have been balanced/equalized yet. For a documentary release, then hopefully the sound will be adjusted.

Me, too!

Oh, that's their plan.

Yes, very well shot and lit.

No, that was my comment (which you can see if you go to the bottom of the page). More comments from others needed!

I went to the website that Bil mentioned in this thread, and it seems that they haven't set up any IndieGoGo contributions yet.

Their site is now live at http://www.8bitgeneration.com/ and they show that they are wanting to do a crowd fund at indiegogo

They need money to finish is what I gather, possibly whipping up some interest may help.
